Poster Girl (Wrong Side of the World)

November 18, 2006

Not much to say here but to invite all to click on the link and watch and listen to this Australian Singer as she sings an answer to some fan that apparently wrote her a not too nice letter after she arrived back home from entertaining their troops in the War on Terror.

Poster Girl (Wrong Side Of The World)

Can we say the Australian answer to the Dixie Chicks?

This is an expensive album.
There are some used copies out on amazon for under $20, there are new copies also.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would stop listening to an artist because they go over to entertain the troops.
Even those not for the war, shouldn't be against those who ordered to go fight it, or those that choose to go entertain them.

Coboble, as one who has experienced discontent from the anti-war crowd, it boggles my mind too.I never understood why they were taking it out on us. Even long time friends from school would shy away from me and some even made statements like I should have died.

I guess I found part of the hatred they showed us when I looked deeper into the phony claims and testimony of John Kerry, failed Presidential Candidate, from back in 1971. Among many things he said against us (the troops, not the administration) were;

"They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war…"

Not one of these charges were ever substantiated, even after those making them were offered amnesty.

He also said;

"The country doesn't know it yet, but it has created a monster, a monster in the form of millions of men who have been taught to deal and to trade in violence….."

and

"there will be some recrimination but far, far less than the 200,000 a year who are murdered by the United States of America….."

A bit over the top but it stuck, labeling us as walking time bombs with hair triggers. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Do you feel Iraq has been well managed? Do you feel George W. Bush is a competent individual?

ripper, I feel Bush has done more to go after the gravest threat we have ever faced than even his Dad. Carter gave in, Reagan was forced by a Democrat led Congress to abandon and run away from Lebanon. Bush Sr. didn't finish the job. Clinton prosecuted a blind sheik for crimes that should have been seen as an act of war.

Terrorist attacks increased in scope and severity under Clinton and he failed to act strong enough to counter them.

Iraq is and was a necessary war and if the left had displayed just half their hatred of Bush in support of defeating terror, I suspect Iraq would be a lot different than it is perceived as today.

Of course, Iraq made a good political ploy to regrab power. Never mind nearly 3,000 brave Americans gave their lives and untold Iraqis have died with many more coming once we abandon them and allow Al Qaeda to take over.

I got the album today (which I had ordered from Amazon), the one with the Poster Girl song on it.
I didn't even know this artist existed, and I really like some of her stuff, however the Poster Girl song is by far her best (of those I have listened to).

I played the song tonight for my daughter, who was over for Thanksgiving dinner with her sones (my grandsons) and she really liked it as well.

I believe the singer hasn't brokwn into the US market yet, but considering this song is being widely circulated through Veterans sites (how I got it) I imagine she mght be coming here soon.

Time will tell.
