Go To Hell, Val Kilmer

Yes, Val Kilmer, veteran actor apparently with a size 54-hat size, over impressed with himself after being in the movies “Tombstone,” “Top Gun” and “Batman Forever,” can kiss this Viet Nam Veteran’s rosy red ass!

I apologize for my profanity to you readers, but not to Kilmer. Sometimes profanity is appropriate and in this regard to Val Kilmer, it is one. He is a punk-assed, pampered, spoiled rotten slime ball.

I am sure many may be dismayed by my expressions against this asshat, after so many have enjoyed his performances in the make believe movies he appears in, but read on and I’ll explain why I say this and why I’ll never pay to go see another movie with this jerk in it.

The New Mexico Independent ran a story late last month on the likelihood of Kilmer running for the office of governor of New Mexico in 2010.

Although Kilmer was born and raised in California the Independent refers to him as “One of New Mexico’s most famous residents.” Fair enough as I assume he has taken up residence in the state of his paternal grandfather.

Kilmer has dropped strong hints that Governor Bill Richardson endorses him in the run, should he make it.

The Independent links to an interview of Kilmer by Chuck Klosterman for Esquire, published in July 2005.

This exchange ought to rile any honest hearted American, especially my fellow Viet Nam Veterans. You just have to read it for yourself.

(Klosterman) “You mean you think you literally had the same experience as Doc Holliday?”

(Kilmer) “Oh, sure. It's not like I believed that I shot somebody, but I absolutely know what it feels like to pull the trigger and take someone's life.

(Klosterman) “You understand how it feels to shoot someone as much as a person who has actually committed a murder?”

(Kilmer) “I understand it more. It's an actor's job. A guy who's lived through the horror of Vietnam has not spent his life preparing his mind for it. He's some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam. It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship. They didn't have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there.”
Val Kilmer, this 60 year old gray haired Viet Nam Vet, who came from a middle class background, graduated High School, never been arrested or come close to committing a crime, enlisted in the United States Army. I also voluntarily extended my tour and have never regretted serving my country, unlike you punk ass pansy liberal millionaires who think a role in fantasy land makes you more aware of the sacrifices Veterans have made since our country was founded than we are.

The worst part of Viet Nam was coming back to “the World” and meeting shitheads like Val Kilmer, who fell for every lie told by John 'F'in Kerry, Ramsey Clark, Hanoi Jane Fonda and all the other Communist lackey's parading through the streets and bad mouthing my country.

It’s assholes like Kilmer who perpetuate the myth of the Deranged Viet Nam Veteran readily exposed in the book Stolen Valor and by many others, including Medal of Honor recipient Col. George "Bud" Day and yours truly.

What has Kilmer ever done for America besides rake in millions of dollars acting as if he were a brave soul, not standing up for our country?

Kabuki Village blog site expresses similar outrage towards Kilmer in an open letter.

Kilmer, I have wiped better than you off the bottom of my shoe in the front yard. No apology can be accepted for this gross slander of Viet Nam Veterans by yet another piece of shit Hollywood Liberal slime ball.

I will never spend a dime to see another one of your movies and although I live far away from New Mexico, will oppose your candidacy for governor or any other elected office from afar.

America does not need more clueless clods holding office.

Val, GO TO HELL, asshole!

God knows you and I have had, shall we say, disagreements in the past regarding our political views. However, in this case you are 1000% right and that ahole is 1 million % wrong!

The faces of people I know who died 'in country' still haunt me decades later.

How truly deranged. Yeah, I'm not a doctor but I played one on TV - so hand me the scalpel....

I'm surprised he's straight and sober ... he has a history of being a total whack-job.

Lew, you are certainly entitled to your outrage. Though there is a kernel of truth in Kilmer comments, I believe it is just for a small minority. You get all kinds in an army that includes draftees afterall.

As for Kilmer, I believe he has a definite political career for front of him judging by the big belly of his.

Canuck, I have to disagree, no surprise there. You say there is a "kernel of truth" in his words. That "kernel" would so small as to be infinitesimal at best. Kilmer vomited out, "Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam."

The ones who were borderline rarely made it through Basic Training. Those type do not like taking orders or being pushed to their limits.

Of the relative handful that might have made it through, they made little contribution to the safety or defense of the unit and ended up in LBJ, Long Binh Jail.

Kilmer is just another spoiled little asshat who thinks his preperation for a fantasy role equates to the real thing. He is clueless and a shit head that can kiss my rosy red ass, amongst other colorful comments in my mind.

However, I do agree with your last sentence. He will make an excellent Democrat, as clueless and classless as he is.

Otherwise, I hope when he goes home at night, his mother runs out from under the front porch and bites him square in his fat ass.

I should have said 'small kernel'. And I did say 'small minority'.

Kilmer's statement "Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam" is outrageous. Grant you that obviously.

Raoul, in spite of our strong disagreements in other areas, thank you for standing alongside us in this one.

Lew,
Val Kilmer is not different from Steven Spielberg, who actaully said his best hours were spent in the comany of Fidel Castro. Or Sean Penn who adores Chavez and Castro also. Or how about Harry (banana head) Belafonte who said the US is the most fascist tyranny in the world, while all the time adoring and praising Fidel Castro for being a democrat? Or Danny Glover and Oliver Stone, two of Fidel's adoring fans
Yes Lew, something is wrong with all of these useful idiots, and I guess it must be the water they drink in Hollywood that makes them that stupid.

Lew Waters said...

Yes Augustin, you are right. So many of these pampered dolts who condemn those of us who fought for their freedom to make their trashy movies and become wealthy seem to feel they have a right to push their warped views on us, even those who also may have served at one time.

Be it the money, the water, the kool aid or just the drugs, one by one, all of them may kiss my rosy red ass.

Hollywood celebrities used to be people we could look up to and hope to be like, at least their public persona.

Now, most are just spoiled rotten papmered assholes who make no real contribution but think the world revolves around them.

Bravo Zulu, Lew.
When I first read this quote I thought, "Surely this can't be true!" I still hope it's not true, and will be watching for a refutation.

How is it these Hollywood types are not smart enough to realize Veterans and their families comprise a chunk of voters they CANNOT afford to lose by making stupid comments like this?
Unbelievable.

Lew Waters said...

Greybeard, he said this in an interview back in 2005 and I have been unable to find any clarification or apology for it.

Still, that he would have ever said it all pisses me off.

But, papmered elitist who think they know it all aren't known to be deep thinkers.

Hi Lew,

Thank you for your honorable and unselfish service to our country.

I ran a similar story at http://www.military-money-matters.com/val-kilmer.html and have gotten lots of responses from vets and their supporters, who are as angry as you and me.

I also received a response from Val Kilmer, which you can read at http://www.military-money-matters.com/val-kilmer-responds.html

I am attempting to get in touch with Chuck Klosterman, the author of the Esquire interview, to get his comments.

Stay tuned . . .

Lew Waters said...

Thank you, Janet.

I read Kilmer's apology, or should I say denial, and frankly, it reads like a politican trying to run from something he was caught at.

However, I'll wait to see what you find out from Klosterman too.

I've spoken to others who say they worked with Kilmer in the past and the quote sounds just like him. One worked with IMAX and labeled him an "idiot narcissist."

So, we'll see in time, I guess.

Hi Lew,

We received a response from Esquire today . . .

Thanks for your support.

Lew,
God bless you brother for your service to this great country. The news out today is the iRS is after Val Kilmer for a $496K unpaid tax bill and are liening his NM ranch.

He is the typical liberal hypocrit who is all about helping people as long as it is done with OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY !!!

Val here is a message to you: Poney UP or change your politics!!!

Keep up the good work, Lew.

Uncle Joey

Thanks, Joey.

Kilmer will end up getting what he deserves. How soon remains to be seen.

I am always amazed at these liberals who think because they studied a book, or spoke to those who fought in a war, they are more qualified to represent it.

What can we expect from people who's whole life is fantasy?

Hello there Lew, I can only imagine and empathize with what can only be experienced by having fought for your country and our freedom that derives from all Veterans. There aren't enough words or heartfelt thanks to make up for what Vietnam Veterans have endured and continue to endure. I am Canadian and send gratitude to our American Vietnam Veterans. Kilmer shows his opinions are worthless and insulting. Respectfully, Kelly
